Qordoba Receives Series B Funding Led by Aspect Ventures’ Jennifer Fonstad

We are excited to announce our Series B financing today and welcome the partnership at Aspect Ventures to the Qordoba family!

The $11.5M round was led by Aspect Ventures. Upfront Ventures, Rincon Ventures, Broadway Angels and Michael Stoppelman, former SVP of Engineering at Yelp, also participated.

The latest round brings Qordoba’s raised capital to $21 million — allowing us to accelerate the development of our Content AI, which uses deep learning models to help computers understand human emotion in text.

Good software requires good content — and good content connects emotionally. That’s why, for the past four years, we’ve been developing technology that helps teams design and manage emotionally resonant product experiences.

Since 2014, the Qordoba content platform has offered a system of record for UX copy in any number of products and apps, for any number of different user personas and audiences. Customers like Sephora, Visa, and Marriott have used Qordoba to deliver more consistent experiences for all their users.

Then, after three years of R&D, we released Qordoba Content AI, which gives real time feedback and suggestions to deliver experiences that users will never forget.

Qordoba  is at the forefront of the emerging field of content intelligence, which the technology analysis firm Forrester defines as “the use of AI technologies to understand and capture the qualities inherent in any content — its emotional appeal, subject matter, style, tone or sentiment.”  

In the field of product development, the challenge of content intelligence is multiplied by the effort it requires to get copy changes through an application development workflow.

“Product teams are on the hook to create emotionally resonant app experiences. It’s where we spend all of our time as users. But that is very hard to do,” said May Habib, our co-founder and CEO. “With Qordoba, our customers see all of their app content in a single place and can predict in real-time whether the copy they write will work for the intended audience.”

At Qordoba, we have seen fast growth in the technology and enterprise spaces, tripling revenue year over year. Some of our customers include Visa, Marriott, Conde Nast, the NBA, Postmates and Sephora. We are grateful for their support and partnership.
